PROTETIKA

Prosthetics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the substitution of missing teeth and soft tissues in the oral cavity. It is divided into fixed and mobile prosthetics.

VENEERS

Veneers are minimally invasive aesthetic restorations. They are employed to change the colour, shape and position of vital teeth and involve the removal of only 1 mm of enamel from the surface of the teeth.

MOBILE PROSTHESIS

When the condition of the oral cavity does not allow the use of fixed prosthesis, dentistry offers mobile or combined prosthesis solutions. Combined prosthesis consists of a fixed prosthesis and a movable partial denture that needs to be removed in order to maintain oral hygiene. Mobile prosthesis include complete dentures, partial dentures and partial dentures with clasps.

It is a solution for the treatment of a completely toothless jaw. It is made of acrylic and may have a metallic base.

Partial dentures are mostly made of Wironit and acrylic or in rare cases only of acrylic. Which solution will be recommended to the patient largely depends on the condition of the oral cavity.

They are clipped to ceramic crowns with clasps that are usually attached to the last tooth in line. This combination of elements helps bring aestheticism and precision to the prosthetic work, and it reduces the visibility of clasps. It is worth noting that this method reduces pressure on the teeth under ceramic crowns.

Dental implant is a surgical fixture to which an abutment is attached, and a denture is then secured to it. At least 4 implants are required to support a denture on implants in the upper jawbone (maxilla), whereas in the lower jawbone (mandible) a denture on implants is supported by at least 2 implants.

It is a procedure that allows for a denture to replace a full set of teeth using 4 implants. This concept enables the total rehabilitation of a full set of teeth in both fully toothless jawbones.

CROWNS AND BRIDGES / FIXED IMPLANT PROSTHESIS

Crowns and bridges are also individual prosthetic restorations designed primarily for aesthetic and functional reconstruction. The lack of teeth can adversely affect the occlusion, cause shifting and tilting of other teeth or damage to the mandibular joint. Missing teeth can be replaced with implants or bridges.

Ideal aesthetic results in the treatment of front teeth are achieved using press ceramic or zirconium oxide ceramic. Press ceramic is not applied to a metallic base, which allows dental technicians to create natural translucency on a vital tooth. Zirconium oxide ceramic is a new material used in both crown and bridge work which offers excellent aesthetic and functional characteristics. Standard bridges are fabricated using meal ceramic. Modern ceramic materials have a high quality aesthetic value. The metallic base is completely covered by ceramic to meet all the aesthetic requirements. Metal ceramic bridges are just as functional as bridges fabricated using other type of material.

All the above mentioned work can be equally applied to natural teeth (after being reshaped) as well as to dental implants.
